Biography
Madison Resch is a mezzo-soprano from Houston, Texas. In 2025, she relocated to Germany to join the ensemble at Theater Freiberg. In the coming season, she will portray roles including La Ciesca (Gianni Schicchi), Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel), Flora (La Traviata), Pugsley (The Addams Family), and the Second Maid (Der zerbrochene Krug). In the United States, her roles have included Dinah (Trouble in Tahiti), Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus), Euridice (L’Orfeo), Mother Goose (The Rake’s Progress), Mercury (Dido and Aeneas), Il Paggio (Rigoletto), and the title role in Béatrice et Bénédict. In addition to opera, Madison has performed professionally in musical theatre at regional theaters in Dallas and has appeared in summer stock festivals in New York and Cape Cod. As a concert soloist and recitalist, she has performed works such as Rachmaninoff’s Vespers, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Mozart’s Coronation Mass and Requiem, and Hoiby’s The Italian Lesson in Houston, Dallas, and Chicago. Her repertoire also includes Mozart roles such as Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), Dorabella (Così fan tutte), the Second Lady (Die Zauberflöte), and Zerlina (Don Giovanni); Rossini heroines including Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia) and the title role in La Cenerentola; as well as iconic trouser roles such as Octavian (Der Rosenkavalier) and Nicklausse (Les contes d’Hoffmann).
